Ingrate, Thy Name Is Straight Edge
Another straightedge band that came to play No Rio was called Insight, from Salt Lake City, Utah. They had some problems on the road and lost a lot of their equipment, so they show up without a drumkit or amps and ask if they can borrow some stuff. Since there are a lot of bands on the bill (including Supertouch, the head liners, who have a lot of good equipment), it`s decided that Insight would go on right before Supertouch, use their equipment, and save a little set up time between bands.
So what does Insight do? They pack together in their van and stay there all through the first three opening bands. Then they come out, set up, play three songs, and announce that
the singer's throat hurts, so they stop playing. Then they get back in the van, and don't even hang around to watch Supertouch, who loaned them all their equipment.
And later on...
Straight edgers, because they're convinced of their moral superiority, feel they are entitled to their share of the scene without putting anything back. They take, but all they give is advice on moral conduct. Well, I've got news for them.
Wonder if this guy's still carrying a chip on his shoulder?

Ill bet a pair of Reebok pumps a Paula Abdul album and my Flanel shirt with Nirvana patch that A. This guy had a belly full of cum when he wrote this and B. I am in fact superior to him in every way. EVERY WAY. If we could find this guy I would challenge him to several 90's themed events to prove my superiority. Maybe a Warhead sour face challenge. How bout a Koala Drinking challenge. Definitely an old fashioned foot race. Possibly a Peter Piper Pizza Eating Challenge.
I was a dick way before I was ever Straightedge. But now I'm a dick and better then most people, as are my fellow Straightedge peers!
a couple more points I missed
1. Wasnt Supertouch also a bunch of Straight Edge Kids. Well except the singer. But wouldnt that mean that 50% of the guys argument is stupid. Since the singer doesnt have any equipment to loan all the loaned equipment belonged to straight edge kids thus negating the dickness.
2.If it were true that we didnt put anything into the scene then what we lacked in sceneness we made up in HAVING A FUCKING JOB. So we were putting our energy into the economy. Now whats more important the punk rock scene or the global scene you selfish cunt (the article guy that is).
3. This turds whole argument is based on 2 incidents where two bands just probably didnt really want to play for a bunch of shit bags. 2 incidents. Then he goes on to back these claims up by saying how straight edge kids are dicks because they dont give him free shit. Well excuse me shit bag but maybe they dont give a fuck about your new jersey fanzine. Why should they give you free shit anyways. Doesnt it make you the dick for expecting it insted of supporting your "Scene". And why should they care that you prominatly featured them. You maybe make 200 zines an issue.
In closing after reading the whole article Id love to kick this faggots ( in no way pertaining to sexual preference) in the nuts. FUCK HIM. I might find him via the space and message him a big FUCK YOU!!!
