NYHC BOOK AVAILABLE FREE ONLINE

From the author, Dave Koenig:

Now available for download is my long awaited but vastly unfinished book about the New York City hardcore and punk scene of 1986-1993. After many people recently asking me to do something with this material, I decided to put what I had together and release it as a PDF. It's just over 200 pages of reading and reference materials. I have explained to many the reasons why I stopped work on this project, so I will not go into them here. Thanks to all who helped out and who took the time to answer the questions.

So for what it's worth, here it is. Please let people know about this through the social media method of your choice. I want this to get out there.

NOISECREEP INTERVIEWS DWID

Dwid doesn't give a whole lot of interviews, but when he does, he usually has a few interesting things to talk about. Check out an excerpt below.

Noisecreep.com -- Can you remember which bands or styles of music made an impact on you when you were really young?

One of the first punk records I bought was in 1984. It was a double album compilation LP called 'Peace/War' and it featured extreme bands from all over the world. I found the G.I.S.M. and Septic Death tracks and accompanying artwork to be life altering for me.

Why do you think you gravitated towards hardcore and metal?

I was interested in extreme music and art and during the '80s punk/hc/metal offered this as a creative outlet.
