Each night, we'll be compiling all his "tweets" from the day to give you a little insight on what's going on in Chicago. If you want to follow along with up-to-the-minute updates, catch him here. Otherwise, just keep your eyes on the GCA and we'll give you the rundown.
"230 and I'm skatin the fuck out! Party of the decade kicking off!"
"If your bag weighs 20pounds, pick it up and carry it. Don't drag it behind you making extra noise with the wheels like an out of shape loser"
"Hell yes! Crying kids on the plane already!"
"It seems sunglasses were inessential in packing for this trip."
"I like New York pizza better than Chicago Stuffed pizza"
"The complete lack of goings on downtown at night here leaves me thinking, why Chicago?"
"Watching Roadhouse, such a good film."
TROLLEY SQUARE "HERO"
Hammond reported to the Weber County jail Wednesday morning, according to the jail's Web site. Hammond pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery. Last week, a judge sentenced Hammond to 90 days in jail but allowed him to leave the jail during the day to attend his civilian job.
The misconduct did not come to light until after Hammond had received national recognition for his bravery on Feb. 12, 2007, when he left a dinner with his wife in Salt Lake City's Trolley Square mall to intercept shooter Sulejman Talovic.

DISEMBODIED SET LIST
Rumor has it that this is the same one they'll be playing in Chicago, too. When it comes to California however, they're playing two different sets—one for each show. Let's hope this is the the one they go with on the first night.

THE WEEK IN MOVIE NEWS
Rodriguez (Sin City, Planet Terror) literally has a dozen projects on his plate—including Sin City 2, The Jetsons and Machete—but that doesn't stop him from taking on more. It was announced this week that Rodriguez and Troublemaker Studios would be developing a series reboot called Predators.
15 years ago, the director wrote a treatment for an unproduced sequel and recently, executives at 20th Century Fox discovered they still had it. They became excited about the possibility of another franchise and jumped at the chance. Whether that treatment will be used as the basis for the new film remains to be seen, but Rodriguez said, "What I’d like to do with it is expand on ideas I dreamt up back in the original treatment, that had really expanded on the universe both the Predators and other species live in. We’d create new otherworldly characters while not taking away from the draw our main Predator has."
Rodriguez will be serving only as a producer and given a July 2010 release date but no word on a writer or director has been announced.
Could be good though, and it can't be any worse than the two AVP movies, right?
Been out for a while, but I haven't posted it.
Everyone has been eagerly awaiting news on whether or not Chris Nolan would be back for a third Batman movie, and all indications suggest that he will—but it's going to be a while. Between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Nolan took his time making The Prestige, and this time around is no different.
Nolan's next film, Inception, is being described as 'a contemporary science-fiction action movie set in the architecture of the mind.' Leonardo Dicaprio leads the cast which is rounded out by Joseph Gordon-Leavit, Michael Caine, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and Cillian Murphy. The rest of the details are being kept tightly under wraps, but Nolan rarely disappoints.
This will give Nolan a little bit of time to come up with a fitting end to his Batman story.
NEW TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES IN THE WORKS
Speaking of Christopher Nolan, it seems like everyone wants to cash in on the success of his Batman franchise. Legendary Pictures will be producing a new Ninja Turtles film for a 2011 release, this one showing the origin of the team. Co-creator Peter Laird is signed on as the executive producer and hinted that the film will be a mix of live action and computer animation.
It seems like everyone wants to make comic book films grittier, but this one might not work. The marketplace for the Ninja Turtles has always been relatively kid-friendly, so a drastic change might hurt the franchise more than anything.
GO JAZZ
It's been kind of slow the past couple of days.
Everyone is getting ready to watch the Jazz game, right?

CHINESE MAN KILLED BY CELL PHONE
A Chinese man has died after an exploding cell phone apparently severed his carotid artery, according to reports from China. The local Chinese paper Shin Min Daily is reporting on the victim, thought to be a computer shop clerk in his twenties.
One of the man's coworkers said both were in the store together, when she heard a loud bang, and turned to find the victim lying in a pool of blood. The man had apparently just finished charging the phone and placed it in his shirt pocket.
The make and model of the phone were not reported. Police are said to be investigating whether the cell phone or the battery were counterfeit.
Motorola and Nokia have in the past denied links to problem batteries in China.
This is said to be the ninth such cell phone explosion in China since 2002, including one last year which killed an iron worker in Gansu province.
There have been several other reports of people killed by cell phone explosions, in nations ranging from Ghana to South Korea.

GEOCITIES IS NO MORE
SAN FRANCISCO, April 23 (Reuters) - Yahoo Inc (YHOO.O) is shutting down GeoCities, a free service that hosts personal home pages for consumers, which it acquired for more than $4 billion 10 years ago during the heyday of the dotcom boom.
A posting on a Yahoo Help page for GeoCities on Thursday said the service was no longer accepting new customers and that it will be closing later this year, with more details about how individuals can save their data coming this summer.
You guys better start finding a new place to host your fan-fiction.
MORNING AFTER: BRAVEYOUNG
Gaza was up next, making their Baxter's Cafe debut and playing one of their first all-ages shows in over a year. They played a brutal mix of songs both new and old—including a few tracks from their upcoming album "He's Never Coming Back." Blown guitar heads aside, Gaza proved why they're one of the most promising young bands on the metal scene—both local and national.
Braveyoung closed the show with some of the most beautifully epic songs imaginable. They drove 14 hours straight from Seattle—stopping only to pick up lead guitarist Derrick from the airport—just to make the show. They were gracious and humble and still proved to be one of the most talented bands around.
Thanks to everyone that came out and everyone that stuck around. Don't forget that May 8 is Life or Death, Outlet and Dismantled at Baxter's Cafe. Everyone come check it out and have a good time.
And check out the videos below (sorry for the sound quality, Gaza and Braveyoung both brought more power than our PA and my video camera's microphone were ready for).

UNDEROATH vs. AVENGED SEVENFOLD
Underoath had a few words for Avenged Sevenfold in the latest issue of Metalhammer.
“What’s popular, to a degree, is what pushed me to find something that isn’t popular for Underoath. Chiodos or Escape The Fate who do kind of the same thing – screaming and singing and whatever – do it their way, so we’re like, ‘let’s do it completely the opposite’ because we don’t want to be associated with them.
People might associate us with Avenged Sevenfold because they’re pissed Republicans and ‘so metal’, but they’re a gimmick, they’re a circus. They can’t play and they can’t write a song. What’s worse is the way they look.
If you need to have make-up and crappy names like Synyster Gates to sell records, then you shouldn’t be here. That’s not rock’n’roll to me. Arena rock maybe, but not real rock’n’roll. If you’re basing yourself on how cool you are or how many girls you can trick into thinking your band is cool you can just… take that home.”
Who will win this epic battle?

CIV - DISCOGRAPHY AND TOUR COMING SOON
From World Moves Fast - According to a Spinner report, Civ will be releasing a new complete discography box set on May 19, 2009. The melodic hardcore outfit, which formed from members of Gorilla Biscuits, Judge and Youth of Today will be releasing 43-songs over two CDs.
Drummer Sam Siegler told Spinner:
“When we originally got together, it was more of a project — a fun way to play music with [singer] Civ, play the hardcore that we grew up with, and also attempt to write some ’60s inspired pop tunes. t was a fun from the start because we really didn’t have any major expectations. We just wanted to do a series of EPs on our friend’s record label, with cool artwork, and things kind of took off from there. ”
As to whether the band will be playing any shows together:
“I think we all agree that it would be a blast to play and support this release, but we’re just trying to gauge what the demand will be.”

DOGWELDER HAS SOME COMPETITION
Todd Archer of The Dallas Morning News reports: The lead singer is 6-8 with a shaved head and tattoos. The bass player is 6-6 and weighs 353 pounds. The drummer’s head is shaved, too, and he also weighs more than 300 pounds.
“We have the heaviest band in the world — literally,” said Justin Chapman, the lead guitarist. “You try to make the music fit your image, and to me, I see big guys on stage, big, scary guys, and I want to hear heavy, scary music.”
Cowboys right tackle Marc Colombo is the lead singer and guitarist. Right guard Leonard Davis plays bass. Backup guard Cory Procter is on drums. Chapman, who played on the offensive line next to Davis at Wortham High School, is the newcomer.
THEIR BASS PLAYER'S NICKNAME IS EVEN BIGG DAWGG!
Check them out!
THANKS FOR COMING OUT LAST NIGHT
Thanks to the guys in Collapse (that aren't me), all the guys in Gaza and the dudes in Braveyoung—who drove 14 hours straight from Seattle, stopping only to pick up Derrick from the airport.
The MORNING AFTER and GCAcast 03 will be up *hopefully* early Wednesday. Keep your eyes peeled.
Next GCA show is May 8 - Life or Death, Dismantled and Outlet. Get stoked.

CHRISTOFFERSON HITS GALLERY STROLL
DAN CHRISTOFFERSON & TRENT CALL
April 17 - May 12, 2009
Opening Reception Friday, April 17, 6-9pm
Trent Call's new series of paintings explore themes of experimentation and spontaneity. Trent challenged himself to keep the works quiet and minimal by using an indirect and open process—approaching each piece from the edge, he worked toward the center, building and destroying layers and allowing odd, abstract shapes and figures to form in the center. In addition, Trent will unveil a cityscape that he has been working on for the past seven months.
In contrast, Dan Christofferson planned his new works out completely—from color schemes to the number of pieces and their framing and placement—while working on smoothing the gap between hand-rendered, physical mark-making and digital illustration. Dan's pieces decode an intricate story of his heritage. Using animals, Mormon symbolism, hands and cryptic heraldry, he tells a story of the thrift and industry of ancestral laborers and worksmiths, linking generations of men in his family who have worked hard to impact the lives of their families. His slow, intricate process starts with sketches and progresses through a series of scans, digital manipulation, printing, redrawing and painting.
MAN TAKES A BITE OUT OF CRIME
NBCNewYork.com: A convicted sex offender from Brooklyn took a bite out of crime and a bite out of himself too, police said.
Damiene Iriarte was found naked and bleeding behind a building in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn after having bitten the tip off his own penis, police told a local newspaper.
It goes without saying that he was subsequently hospitalized.
"How he did it? Limber, I guess. Not the work of a sane mind," a police official told The Daily News.
You think?
Iriarte, 26, pleaded guilty in Suffolk County in 2004 to two misdemeanors after being accused the previous year of raping a 13-year-old girl, according to the News.
It's not clear why Iriarte bit his own penis, but investigators might be just as confused -- or impressed -- that he did it at all.
He's recovering at Brooklyn Hospital Center, representatives of which have not returned calls seeking comment.

CANNIBAL PARTY FOR THREE...
The pair, identified by police only as Timur (28) and Marat (23) G., admitted killing their older brother Rafis and then eating him in the central Russian city of Perm.
Police grew suspicious when the brothers reported Rafis missing but were vague when asked to give details of him so they could start a search, the newspaper Tvoi Den reported today (Weds).
After raiding the brothers' house police discovered Rafis's skeleton that the cannibal pair had stripped of flesh and buried in the garden.
Fiend Timur said he ate his brother to hide the evidence because he couldn't face going back to prison where he had served 10 years for murdering his next door neighbour.
He said he blamed his brother Rafis for his last spell in jail after he reported him to police for the murder and started fighting with him. Marat had joined him and the pair had beaten him to death.
"We decided to eat him. I did not want to go back behind bars so we cut off his head and buried it and cut up the body parts and kept them in a refrigerator," Timur told police.
"We have been cooking and eating his meat for six months," he added.

CHINESE DRYWALL CAUSING A STINK...
Now that decision is haunting hundreds of homeowners and apartment dwellers who are concerned that the wallboard gives off fumes that can corrode copper pipes, blacken jewelry and silverware, and possibly sicken people.
Shipping records reviewed by The Associated Press indicate that imports of potentially tainted Chinese building materials exceeded 500 million pounds during a four-year period of soaring home prices. The drywall may have been used in more than 100,000 homes, according to some estimates, including houses rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina.
"This is a traumatic problem of extraordinary proportions," said U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler, a Florida Democrat who introduced a bill in the House calling for a temporary ban on the Chinese-made imports until more is known about their chemical makeup. Similar legislation has been proposed in the Senate.
The drywall apparently causes a chemical reaction that gives off a rotten-egg stench, which grows worse with heat and humidity.
Researchers do not know yet what causes the reaction, but possible culprits include fumigants sprayed on the drywall and material inside it. The Chinese drywall is also made with a coal byproduct called fly ash that is less refined than the form used by U.S. drywall makers.
Dozens of homeowners in the Southeast have sued builders, suppliers and manufacturers, claiming the very walls around them are emitting smelly sulfur compounds that are poisoning their families and rendering their homes uninhabitable. Read the full story here.
