EX-96 DJ PORTIA JOINS UTAHFM

For those of you that don't know much about UtahFM, you should check it out. Internet radio is taking over in a big way and this local station has become a new home to a lot of ousted local DJ's.

Among the many cool features that the station has, is that UtahFM is available on the iPhone (for those of you that have them) and complete freedom from the FCC. They're always trying new things and a lot of them are working better than expected.

Portia Early, who's been a long time supporter of the local Salt Lake scene (she used to host the X-96 show Live and Local) recently joined the staff and her new show debuts next Monday (5/11) at 3PM and will be on every Monday after that.

If you're in a local band, drop by and give her a copy of your music. You might hear yourself on the (new and improved) radio.

Also, if you listened to X-96 and were a fan of Live and Local, you may be able to still get it. Bill Frost of City Weekly wrote on their blog yesterday : "As for her former Live & Local show, it's maybe up for sale: Allegedly, X96 wants $2,500 a month to keep the show on the air, or that two-hour Sunday-night block will go by the wayside as live weekend DJs recently did. Investors, act now!"
