On Tuesday, BYU's student newspaper "The Daily Universe" printed a photo from this past weekends General Conference. The caption read, "Members of the Quorum of the twelve Apostates and other general authorities raise their hands in a sustaining vote..."
It was supposed to say "Apostles."
Apostates means to abandon a political or religious belief.
BYU tracked down 18,000 copies of the paper, re-printed them and replaced the issue with the correct caption. Somebody fucked up.

i dunno if somebody fucked up, to me it seems that somebody made a conscious decisioin to use the word "apostate" prior to writing it out....
it seems pretty hard to accidentally replace the word apostles w/ apostates..... at least if you know the meanings of the words....
maybe they did fuck up, maybe they used the word Apostates as a joke, and forgot to change it... that's even better.
either way it's pretty funny though!
Rumor is that the spell check program like 'apostates' better than 'apostles.'
But I'm betting on the joke they forgot to fix route, too.
Im not at all amused with this accident/joke. I think who ever wrote this should be held accountable for their actions. Either way as long as people are aware of which church (church of jesus christ of latter day saints) holds the truth then thats all that really matters!
