MUMMY COSTUME CATCHES FIRE, BURNS BOY

An Orem boy is in critical condition today after his friends wrapped him in toilet paper to look like a mummy and accidentally set him ablaze.

It happened near 5 p.m. Monday as 11-year-old Tyler Morgan was playing a game with a group his friends at an area park adjacent to Geneva Elementary School, according to Capt. Ned Jackson with Orem public safety.

The group of between four and six boys wrapped Morgan up like a mummy against a pole using toilet paper. They then strung more toilet paper around a series of four poles in a pavilion to create a wrestling ring, Jackson said, adding that Morgan was a willing participant in the game at that point.
