In Sept. Rock Band 2 will be released with a few changes. First off the guitar has had a make-over, its been given a sturdier strum switch, better frets, a photo sensor on the neck to help with calibration, and its now wireless. The basic drums now have softer pads which are more quite, velocity sensitive, and have more rebound as well as a sturdier kick pedal and now being wireless. For $300 you can upgrade your kit to a full drum kit, including cymbals, sturdier kick pedal, metal frame, and better pads. Also there is a drum trainer in the game, yes, this game is going to attempt to teach you how to play the drums. I've heard that the upgraded drums can be used freely like a normal electronic drum set as well though I don't know if that's been confirmed.
