After announcing his departure from the roster of Lakai Footwear, Eric Koston has signed onto the infamous Nike SB skate team beside the likes of Paul Rodriguez, Reese Forbes and Lance Mountain. Koston's past and present sponsors include Girl Skateboards, Fourstar Clothing, Es Shoes, Lakai Shoes, Active, Independent Trucks and Spitfire Wheels. Signing with Nike should come as no surprise considering that Koston has become known for taking home medals at the sport's most prestigious competitions including the X Games and The Gravity Games. Is Koston shooting to be the Michael Jordan of skateboarding?
Or maybe he's just stoked to have such as serious design team backing his kicks...
“Not only am I psyched to be a part of the great group of guys that makes up the Nike SB team, but I’m equally as excited to work with them creatively. I’m sure many people know that a lot of different Nike’s have been the inspiration for my shoe designs over the last 12 years, so I feel like a fucking kid in a candy store when it comes to this partnership between Nike and I.”
The skater has also garnered acclaim as of late for the founding of exclusive skatepark, The Berrics, with friend and fellow skate legend Steve Berra.
