Philadelphia's Starkweather has taken this week's poll with 55% of the votes, making them the official Salt-Lake's-Favorite-Band-That-No-Other-City-Seems-Too-Truly-Appreciate.
Formed in 1989, Starkweather staked its claim as one of hardcore's most eccentric and intense acts with a string of 7" records followed by the first EP, Starkweather, for Inner Rage Records (1993), a studio album, Crossbearer, for Too Damn Hype (1994), their second full-length effort, Into the Wire, on Edison Recordings (1995) and the 1996 Bitter Frost, Bee Stings and Posion Eggs split with Season to Risk through Supermodel Records.
Starkweather released their third album, Croatoan on vinyl in late 2005. 2006 saw the CD release of Croatoan through Candlelight Records.
While the band is infamous for rarely touring and randomly releasing music, 20 years of steady activity have proven they have no intentions to throw in the towel.
Now all we need to do is convince them to play Salt Lake. Get at them here: Starkweather.
