TONIGHT IN SLC: 01/21/2010
Sundance Film Festival @ Eccles Theatre in Park City
The 10-day festival kicks off tonight with "Howl," a film about a young Allen Ginsberg, the documentary "Restrepo," about soldiers in Afghanistan and Shorts Program I, featuring the short film "I'm Here" directed by Spike Jonze. All three will be showing in Salt Lake sometime over the next week if you don't feel like driving to Park City. We'll keep you posted. More Info.
Collective Soul & The Samples @ The Rail
Along with the films showing at Sundance, Slamdance and X-Dance films rolling out this weekend it's also a big weekend for music. There's bound to be some great acts (mostly kept under wraps until the day of) a few head scratchers and then washed up 90s bands looking for a paycheck. And that's what's happening tonight at The Rail. If you want to relive some radio-friendly alt rock from the mid-90s, tonight will be your first opportunity. More Info.
Outdoor Retailer Convention @ Salt Palace
Interested in the outdoors? Been looking for that perfect new tent or sleeping bag for your camping trips this summer? Well, it's all here this weekend at the Outdoor Retailer Convention. More Info.
There's going to be a lot going on in the next couple of weeks to make up for the first half of the month. Check back and we'll keep updating.
