TONIGHT IN SLC: 01/26/2010

Sundance Film Festival @ Tower Theater, Broadway Cinemas, Park City & Ogden Theatres
Sundance is still going strong and if you haven't made it out to see any of the films, tonight is another chance. The Tuesday schedule is right here. I strongly recommend The Tillman Story if you're looking for something to see.

Del The Funky Homosapien @ Elevate
Del and members of Heiroglyphics will be at Elevate for the X Dance Action Sports Film party tonight. It's 21+ though, sorry kids. More Info.

White Denim @ Urban Lounge
They definitely fit the label of "hipster band" but White Denim is actually a pretty solid band. Early 70s style garage rock mixed with a few modern flourishes, the Austin, Texas trio has been building a solid fan base with good old rock and roll. More Info.

As a collective Hieroglyphics only ever released two full length studio albums that I can recall period... neither of which appeal to me at all. But I can honestly say that you probably snow board and listen to immense amounts of backpack rap, like Hiero, and therefore have no actual basis for your comparison to legends like Wu-Tang clan or any of the member's individual releases, some of which are the best g-rap has to offer. I love bay area rap more than most, but Hiero is hip hop flop that doesn't get to be compared to the likes of the Wu Tang clan as far as I am concerned. So you can be overtly opinionated on the matter, but nobody asked for a comparison of the two groups at all, you just threw it out there. So I gotta check you and stick by the opinion that it's a terrible comparison in the first place, and keep in mind that I gave away a copy of 'Cause For Alarm' back when you were singing "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam."
