NEW MUSIC REVIEW: STRIKE ANYWHERE

Strike Anywhere
Iron Front
Bridge 9 Records

It's fitting that Iron Front is Strike Anywhere's debut on hardcore label Bridge 9: the angrier sides of the political punk vets stand on its frontlines. "Invisible Colony" sets things off with a circle-pit pace and a group-vocal-backed critique of the "the divisible, glamorous United States." Frontman Thomas Barnett took the time to share his lyrical inspiration with ExpressNightOut.com who are streaming the new record. "Another song about the urban wasteland and state control and oppression," writes Barnett of the song "Blackbirds Roar" -- an undeniably toe-tapping, pop punk track that ensures that Strike Anywhere hasn't let go its trademark softer side.

For Fans Of: An outspoken Rise Against, The fence between Lifetime and Paint It Black (So, Kid Dynamite?), Bad Religion
