TONIGHT'S SHOW PARTIALLY MOVED TO BAXTER'S
Reviver, Rebuilt and Horizons were kind enough to let Reflect and Tamerlane jump on their show.
Gaza had already taken all their equipment back to Layton, so they won't be playing.
But everyone should still head over and check out the show. It starts at 7 PM.

THOSE WACKY POLYGAMISTS
At one home, police caught the accused burglars in the act, though criminal charges have not been filed. But detectives are not convinced the second theft -- where up to $5 million in gold was said to be stolen -- occurred.
"Here's a lady that's missing up to $5 million in gold, then won't take our phone calls on it," said West Jordan police Lt. Bob Shober.
Both the suspects and the victims are associated with the Kingston polygamist sect, said Rowenna Erickson, a former member of the Kingston family by marriage. The sect also is known as the Davis County Cooperative.
Salt Lake County sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson said a Millcreek resident on Feb. 26 reported two men entering and leaving a neighbor's home. A deputy arrived and found Scott E. Brown, 20, and David L. Brown, 19.
The pair had about $70,000 in silver bars they had taken from the home, Hutson said.
"They essentially admitted, 'That's our aunt,'" Hutson said. "'We often go to her home and take some things.'" Read more.
ACACIA STRAIN SHOW CANCELLED
Apparently The Acacia Strain's van broke down just outside of Las Vegas about an hour ago, so the show is a no-go. Sorry to everyone that was looking forward to seeing them, Gaza, Tamerlane or xReflectx.
All those bands will be playing again soon, though. So keep your eyes on the shows section.
And we wish The Acacia Strain luck at the blackjack table—er, I mean mechanic.

GRUNGE IS DEAD
Blabbermouth -- Fifteen years after Kurt Cobain's suicide on April 5, 1994 comes the authoritative story of grunge. "Grunge is Dead: The Oral History of Seattle Rock Music" (released April 1, 2009, via ECW Press) by Greg Prato is the definitive story of the Pacific Northwest music scene of the late '80s and early '90s. Never before has a book attempted to examine the scene as a whole. PEARL JAM bassist Jeff Ament says, "Finally, a book about the early years of our little scene in Seattle. I can't wait to hear all the different perspectives from the people that were actually there, not the so-called experts, who didn't show up until the '90s."
Some of the original interviews include:
* Jeff Ament, PEARL JAM/MOTHER LOVE BONE bassist
* Kim Thayil, SOUNDGARDEN guitarist
* Susan Silver, SOUNDGARDEN/ALICE IN CHAINS' manager, ex-wife of Chris Cornell)
* Duff McKagan, GUNS N' ROSES bassist
* Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney, ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist
* Nancy McCallum, mother of late ALICE IN CHAINS singer Layne Staley
* Mark Arm, MUDHONEY singer
* Chad Channing, NIRVANA drummer
* Jack Endino, producer NIRVANA/SOUNDGARDEN/MUDHONEY
* Charles Peterson, photographer
* Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman, founders Sub Pop Records
IS SLC ROCKIN' DOWN TO ELECTRIC AVENUE?
But scores of electric-car buffs don't want to wait for an organic epiphany. They are pushing Salt Lake City to propel the green revolution by setting up charging stations at parking lots, street meters and public hangouts such as Liberty Park.
The hope is to add regular outlets where converted electric cars could "top off" for a fee rather than relying on an overnight charge at home. If the practice takes off, high-powered stations that can boost certain batteries to 80 percent capacity in just 26 minutes may be next.
"Public charging stations will help people to embrace the future and promote air quality in the valley," Jim French implored the City Council last week.

HENRY ROLLINS CAST IN 'SONS OF ANARCHY'
Grammy® Award-winning musician and actor Henry Rollins will guest star in the FX drama series Sons of Anarchy for its second season, which is scheduled to return to the network in the fall, announced Nick Grad, Executive Vice President of Original Programming, FX Networks. Rollins will play a new antagonist in the show’s fictional town of Charming, California who poses a deadly threat to the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club. He is scheduled to appear in six episodes.
“Henry will bring his intensity and muscularity to this complex part,” said Grad. “We look forward to seeing him inhabit this role.”
Sons of Anarchy stars Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman and is executive produced by Kurt Sutter. John Linson and Art Linson are Executive Producers. Sons of Anarchy is a co-production of FX Productions and FOX 21, Twentieth Century Fox Television’s alternative production arm. Production of season two starts on April 27 in Los Angeles.
Henry Rollins first came into the public consciousness as lead singer of the seminal Los Angeles band Black Flag. He later founded the Rollins Band, receiving a 1994 Grammy nomination for the song “Liar.” That same year he won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word or Non-musical Album for Get in the Van. He was host of the Independent Film Channel’s The Henry Rollins Show and the radio show “Harmony in my Head” on Indie 103 FM in Los Angeles. He currently hosts his own music-mix radio show on KCRW-FM. Rollins’ film appearances include Bad Boys 2 with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence and director David Lynch’s Lost Highway.
Sons of Anarchy is an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores a notorious outlaw motorcycle club (MC) and its desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that: charming. The Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers and overzealous law officers. Behind the MC’s familial lifestyle and legally thriving automotive shop is a ruthless and illegally thriving arms business.

HEY REMEMBER THIS KID?
Well, turns out he's not the father after all.
DNA test show Alfie Patten is not a dad, wow! The 15 year-old Chantelle has cheated him, a poor boy?
"A DNA test showed a 13-year-old boy in Britain is not the father of a baby born to a 15-year-old he had unprotected sex with once.
Chantelle Stedman told Alfie Patten, who was 12 when he slept with her, he was her newborn daughter Maisie's father.
The story caused a worldwide media frenzy after it was first reported by Britain's Sun newspaper, while politicians criticised what they called Britain's declining morals.
At first Stedman said Patten was the only boy she had ever slept with, but soon after other teens came forward saying they too could be the baby's father, because they claimed to have had sex with the girl.
It is still not clear who the baby's father is."

TAKE THAT CANADA...
COLLAPSE NEEDS A BASS PLAYER
Not a lot of qualifications needed other than you have to know how to play bass and actually want to play bass. Straight Edge is a plus and while being vegan isn't absolutely necessary, it would be awesome if you were (because that way Nathan and I would own the tie-breaker—selfish on our part I know, but I'm posting this ad so I can take a liberty or two).
Check out the songs here and drop us a message if you're interested.

A BOBCAT WALKS INTO A BAR, HE SAYS TO THE BARTENDER
COTTONWOOD, Ariz. » A bobcat has attacked three people in the central Arizona community of Cottonwood, including two men who were bitten by the animal after it wandered inside a bar.
Officers called to the Chapparal Bar arrived to find the bobcat in the parking lot, where they shot and killed it.
Tests were ordered to determine if the animal was rabid. It wasn't clear how seriously the victims had been wounded.
Cottonwood police say the animal attacked Monday when it scratched a woman who thought she had hit it with her car. Then police got a report of a bobcat acting aggressively toward a woman outside a Pizza Hut.
About 11 p.m. came the call from the bar that a bobcat was inside as patrons climbed atop bar stools to get away.

ISIS POSTS NEW MUSIC
The band's 5th studio album, Wavering Radiant, will be released May 5th on Ipecac Records.
NIRVANA CATALOG TO BE RELEASED ON VINYL
Punk News -- Nirvana will be releasing the entirety of their major label catalogue on vinyl, reports Billboard. Universal Records subsidiary, Original Recordings Group, has commissioned Bernie Grubman to remaster Nevermind, In Utero and MTV Unplugged in New York and all three will be made available on 180 gram vinyl.
ORG's founder, Monti Olson commented on his vinyl plans:
We're going to be releasing a lot of classic alternative music from the 80s and 90s on 180 gram vinyl. Stuff that's more obscure and more popular. We're in negotiation with quite a few of those artists. We have some new accounts that are experimenting with vinyl, like Best Buy. I don't know how strong their initiative is, but they've alotted a little bit of floor space for vinyl.
But the bulk of the vinyl in the retail space goes through independent stores - the Amoebas and the Waterloos of the world that have always been in the vinyl business. But what's happening is more and more people are coming in with a curiosity about buying record albums
Nirvana's independent debut, Bleach, remains in print on vinyl through Sub Pop Records.
XIBALBA POSTS DEMO
This is our demo we recorded in late 2006 at Earth Capital Studios in Los Angeles with Alex Estrada. It is titled "12.2012." The demo sounds a little rushed and rough, but thats mainly because we rushed everything, and if the guitars sound out of tune, thats because they probably were, our other guitarist (at the time) didnt know how to tune after songs, or even knew the songs well for that matter, so yea. But, hopefully you like it. Here it is.
Head on over to the band's blog to download 12.2012.

BODY FOUND BURNING NEAR SALTAIR
Salt Lake Tribune -- A person was found dead in a burning car near Saltair late Friday night.
Fire crews doused the flames, but the car, which appeared to be a 2001 Chevy Malibu, was still smouldering at 11:15 p.m., and the body was visible in the car, Hutson said.
The car had not crashed, Hutson said. "It appears there was a fire intentionally set to destroy the car and the person inside."

EMO: THE 4TH SCARIEST WORD ON THE NET
The source of the paranoia about the otherwise innocuous word likely stems from media coverage of a recent suicide and similar incidents.
